And it's only 10:00am
I woke up this morning feeling the need to work.
So far I have made banana bread. (In 2 hours and 15 minutes it will be out of the oven and then I have to let it cool a bit so I can eat it... YUMMY)
And I started the potatoes for potato salad.
I went on a massive cleaning spree yesterday, so unless I want to redo everything again today I don't have to do that.
The dishes are done.
The bird and cat are content (although the cat is still bitter from her trip to the vet yesterday).
And... I am feeling better (mind you I still haven't attempted food, so we'll see).
So far.
It's a pretty good day!

I've been tagged!
Thanks to my darling friend Firefly I have been given the simple task of listing 10 things I have never done.
Now Firefly listed hers in a things to do and things she would never do list...
I don't know if I would do that...
Let me think...
I have never:
1: Learned how to GOLF. and I want to. It's my secret desire. (The golfing behind Grandma's when I was 10 doesn't count!)
2: Sky Dived. I am scared as hell, but that is why I want to do it.
3: Written a novel. And I want to. And I will, as soon as I figure out what I need to say.
4: Gone on a real vacation. Pathetic - but true!
5: Weighed less than 140 lbs (as an adult). I don't know if I will lose that much weight, but I would like to see how close I can get.
6: Had sex in a car. I am running out of things I have never done... so I am getting really honest... You had to tag me, huh Firefly!
7: Smoked a cigarette. And I don't plan on it.
8: Sung professionally. But I think I have a pretty good voice and could if I set my mind to it... (yes Firefly I am aware you still have "THE" tape from college... we are both on it!!!) Although I was in a play witha theatre group at home and I sang with the choir - that was a riot.
9: Had a pedicure. yup, I had a manicure when I got fake nails for Firefly's wedding, but never had my toes done. (I'm really reaching now!)
10: Drank til I puked. Not planning on doing that one either...
Ok.
I guess I'll tag AliceBabylon and Buttercup! Oh and I can't forget Vegas!
Have Fun!

Parting is such sweet sorrow...
But only for the weekend...
I have decided to run away.
But only for 2 days.
I will return...reluctantly (sorry Buttercup it's nothing personal, honest).
I'm going to see my baby.
She's 12 and not a baby, and not even mine, but she will always be 18 months old calling me "My" DF and knocking me to the ground with the force of her hugs.
She's the funniest little woman now, and she needs her surrogate Mom to visit as often as possible. And leaving her is hard for us both... but it must be done...
So I leave you all for the weekend.
Ciao
DF

Easily distracted...
Today is a wonderful day... I guess.
It really is hard to say.
I feel great.
I am healthy.
Thinner than I have been in years.
I am happy.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
I like my job. Even though management needs to do the job of a regular worker bee for a couple of days just to see firsthand what we really go through AND then maybe they would smarten up!!!! I can dream a little, right?!?!?!
I have been completely honest with myself and everyone I have spoken too, and I must say it is very liberating. Living in shadows and hiding behind lies and fear is very draining and emotionally exhausting...
I feel free and light for the first time in...well, ages.
I worry about my friend Buttercup as she is now going through the same ordeal I just did and I know she needs to heal on her own, she needs time and I want to help her but my energy and frankness may be too much for her... so instead I offer her my love and my open ears. I do hope it is enough.
***I know... that really was just an excuse to link... but I do want to practice - so get over it!
I feel like Stitch...
you: Aloho Stitch
me: Aloha
you: What's your badness level?
me: I'm having a pretty good day

Todays observations...
Did you ever notice how much a smaller pant size can lift your spirits?
I have been consistantly losing weight since Christmas and when I went back to work my uniform fit... now it looks like I don't know how to wear clothes... it is falling off me and my shirt won't stay tucked in and is so baggy I could put another person in there. Well tomorrow I am going to get a new set of uniforms... I will look relatively respectable again... considering. I mean... it is a uniform. The sad thing is I am looking forward to it.

H2O anyone?
I know I drink a lot of water.
But... how much is too much.
So far today I have had 3 litres and I am still thirsty... like lips are dry, skin cracked and itchy, must finish gallon of water right now... thirsty!!!
Man...
Thank goodness I buy toilet paper in bulk 'cause what goes in has gotta leave eventually!!!

I am free!
Slowly but surely I am freeing myself from the biggest corporation that I dispise the most. For years now I have been handing them my hard earned money every month without so much as a thank you and every month they find a way to take even more of my hard earned money...
So... I have been taking a stand.
Bell Canada I am riding myself of you slowly and I hope the day will come when I need you no more!
I cancelled my Call Answer today.
I have a very lovely digital answering machine that works just fine... so what if people get that annoying busy signal when I am on the phone or on-line... if they need me that bad they can call my cell... it has an answering machine too - and it's not Bell! I don't use Bell for long Distance either...
All so I can save $7 a month...
But why give it to them when I would rather buy... well... cat food, or a new toy for George, or new pants!

Happiness is...
The morning song of George... singing loudly, proclaiming to the world that he has awoken after a long night of blissful slumber... (although the decibel level inside the house is quite atrocious) it is nice to know he is happy.
The meow of Shadow as she dances across the room... telling me the bird is singing (like I didn't already know) and that her food dish is empty... please get off the computer and feed me already...
Mornings here are very interesting.
So much chatter and noise.
I am never alone, I have too critters to talk to, and they both talk back!
All right guys... breakfast is coming!

If I could be a...
Thanks to AliceBabylon for this idea, who got it from ValancyJane. (I know - I really need to learn how to link!)
If you were a _______ what would you do? Select 5 from the following list or make up your own.
If I could be a scientist...
If I could be a farmer...
If I could be a musician...
If I could be a doctor...
If I could be a painter...
If I could be a gardener...
If I could be a missionary...
If I could be a chef...
If I could be an architect...
If I could be a linguist...
If I could be a psychologist...
If I could be a librarian...
If I could be a lawyer...
If I could be an inn-keeper...
If I could be an athlete...
If I could be a professor...
If I could be a writer...
If I could be a llama rider...
If I could be a bonnie pirate...
If I could be an astronaut...
If I could be a world famous blogger...
If I could be a justice on any one court in the world...
If I could be married to any current famous political figure...
If I could be a dog trainer...
Here's what I would do:
If I could be a psychologist... I would work with children, I would teach then that the evil things that their parents do do not need to be repeated in them and that they can be individuals capable of making their own decisions and choices in life without repeating the mistakes of the past... The children are the future, so healthy children mean a healthy future. (Ok - that was a little deep to start things off, but I really mean it, so... )
If I could be an athlete... I would be a marathon runner. Not only racing against the pack and the clock but yourself, telling your inner self that the pain is worth it and the race isn't over until you cross that line. The exhilaration of finishing a race and attaining your personal best time... I think that would be amazing. The inner peace you achieve while running, I would love to experience that as well... without the agony of a stitch in my side after 10 yards...
If I could be a chef... I would travel the world over looking for the perfect spices and ingredients to create fabulous new dishes to feature in my world famous restaurant... because if you are going to dream, you might as well dream BIG!!! I love to cook, and I love to invent stuff... sometimes it works, sometimes, not so good - but you learn by trying and that is what I would do... go find out what others do, and experiment. Then bring it home.
If I could be an astronaut... I'd go back to the moon. Not because I think there's life there, but just because I think we should go - just because we can. The space station is floating around in space - why not land it somewhere and hang out for a while... I think it would be so much more fun. THe guys could go for walks and play golf... just like the Apollo astronauts. Besides NASA really should put a woman on the moon...
If I could be a world famous blogger... I would have a million hits on my blog, everyone would know who I was and I would never leave the house (the last part actually sucks, I like leaving the house, that's where all of life happens). Eventually I would say enough funny and insightful things that I could be published and I would get to leave my job, find a better job and blog more often about bigger and better things! AND maybe this one would come true IF someone could teach me how to LINK!!!

Blog tag - and I'm it...
There's a new game in town and I was tagged... Thanks to VegasGustan for the tag - and as I am a computer moron I don't know how to link...
The question asked is:
“Name five things that people with whom you generally associate think are really cool, but that leave you cold."
My answers are: (in no particular order)
Air conditioning... seriously - I am not a fan... I suffer from migraines and a huge pet peeve is going in and outside of stores or houses all summer in and out of the heat, and well, you guessed it, migraine! I would rather put on a light sundress and lots of deoderant and shower 3 times a day than have to wear pants and a long sleeve shirt in the summer just to have air conditioning!
Cold water... This is a HUGE debate at work. The water coolers only have cold water and we aren't allowed to have our own bottles at our window, so what do you do if you only drink room temperature water...
Rap/Hip Hop/R&B... I am sorry to all the fans... I just don't get it... to me it is, has and always will be, just noise. I don't know if it's because they are speaking so fast I can't understand them or that the words blur into one another and it sounds like they are yelling incoherently, while using swear words between every other word... But whatever it is... I don't like it and I have many friends who do... hell - I was dating a guy who listened to it. (Maybe that's why I dumped him - kidding!)
Pot/Marijuana... This really should not be a big deal for me, my Dad is an avid user... but I had a scare with drugs as a kid and I decided then that I would never be that out of control and so I would not use and I haven't (except for once in college when I did mushrooms while really drunk). But for some reason, I have no use for pot and don't want it around me or in my house. I don't even like my friends smoking either and tend to distance myself from those who choose to smoke.
Wrestling... yes the WWE. I don't get it, it's stupid, it's scripted, the "men" are over sculped and generally weird, the women are FAKE and CREATED!!! and people watch this religiously and pay hundreds of dollars to go to a "show", to watch the PPV specials, and buy the merchandise. I know a girl who passed out from paint fumes while spray painting signs to take to a show because the sign was so big!!! I mean, really... the entire 'enterprise' is designed to entertain, and I understand that, but try telling a guy that it is a soap opera for men and see what happens!
Oh and Soap Operas - what's up with them... oh wait - that's six... never mind...
So I have to tag people now... that's the rules.
Unfortunately I only blog a couple of people and one tagged me and my other contact whicch only leaves....

Sorry.. I don't know how to link...

or... the alternate question

Have fun!

Where there is sunshine...
There is happiness.
I feel better when the sun is shining.
Work was better. I saw an old friend. I adore her, I met her last year when she joined the casino crew and I trained her at our job. She returned this year on a new contract and is back with me for training. I was THRILLED when I saw her... I have seen her since (where would we be without Wal-Mart) but today was a surprise. She hung out ans observed the job - basically we chatted while I worked and she punched buttons on the keyboard (very important)... she was super-surprised about my break with the BF but knows now that it is for the better.
I get to wear a t-shirt that advertises Corona to work tomorrow - always a big plus! and pants that actually fit me!! WHOO-HOO!
My uniform has become amusingly large since returning to work and I haven't managed to make an appointment to get a new one. Tomorrow being Cinco do Mayo, I get to wear a t-shirt with the casino logo and the Corona logo... and pants of my own that fit... yeah me!!!
What could be better than that! besides no uniform?
It is almost time for Lost... so I should go... don't want to miss it.
Ciao for now.
