The best way to "tick off" a cat!

First: get up late putting the breakfast feeding a little behind schedule. Then forgoe the usual sit at computer and lap rest as the plumber was here to fix mini-Niagara Falls from Em's dishwasher...

Second: lock cat in bathroom during plumbers visit as to foil cat's escape attempts, failed to put towel or blanket on floor for comfy spot to rest bottom... poor baby!

Third: Leave for day to do shopping (yes, cat was let out of bathroom). Still no cuddle, lat rest, have already had a firm talking too by Shadow telling of her disapproval of the whole situation.

Fourth: Return from shopping trip with new collar for cat - hot pink with pretty bell... now she can't sneak up on the bird! Not cool in her eyes!

Fifth: De-worming pills. This is the only cat I have ever met who doesn't like moist food and has since puked twice thus making the deworming useless... ohwell.

Sixth: Flea Drops... the kind that you put on the back of their neck. It is spring. Time to prevent before they come in the house. JUST IN CASE!!!

This is not a happy cat.
So if you are looking to make your cat unhappy try these tactics... I think the only thing to make it worse would be to incluse a trip to the vet and a spay/neuter plus shots. That's coming but I don't think I'll tell Shadow that!

The weekend - an overview...

Thursday - horrible day at work... so instead of endangering the lives of many I drove to Blockbuster and rented Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and laughed my butt off for an hour and a half. Then I went to bed!

Friday: Got up early (as usual), packed the car, and drove to T.O. Went to the All about Pets Show at the International center. Learned that if you stick a thermometer in a cats vagina while she is in heat you can induce ovulation and therefore relieve her "heat". I also saw some very well behaved and absolutely adorable parrots, and spent way too much money - but it was well worth it!
Then J and I went to see Be Cool after dinner - also very funny - almost as good as Get Shorty.

Saturday: Up and scared the crap out of J, twice before 10:30 (a new record), had breakfast, then he went to work and I drove out to Uxbridge to see my Mom. Spent a couple of hours with her. Drove back into city, waited for J to get home from work then we went to Chinatown for dinner YUMMY!!! Called it an early night after I kicked his ass at Trivial Pursuit!

Today (Sunday): up at 7:40. showered and breakfasted, loaded the car and out the door by 8:30am. said goodbyes to J and on the road by 8:45am. back in Niagara Falls just after 10am (also a new record) Cleaned up miniature Niagara Falls that had erupted in kitchen as the dish washer upstairs had exploded and water was leaking everywhere, then I went to work (which was much better today). Had dinner with Em and the boys, cuddled with cat and George and played some golf now am on computer before bed...
I have phone calls to make in the morning regarding the work fiasco of Thursday!

The weekend was much needed and very relaxing. I do feel better, although when I saw the manager at work today I wnated to hit him... I controlled myself though. So, I guess that's a good sign!

The Challenge - loving words - loving actions

Firefly has set the challenge into motion and I have agreed to put it on the line.

I adore my man.
He makes me laugh.
He encourages me to do things (like go to sporting events) that I would normally avoid and he stands beside me the whole time, holding my hand and asking if I'm alright and if I need anything. No one has ever done that for me before.
He understands that I am a tad strange and accepts that, infact we get strange together.
He tells me he loves me all the time and understands that even if I am not vocal about it I do mean it when I say it.
He laughs at me for taking over the bed and doesn't get mad.
He listens when I speak and even if he doesn't agree with my opinion he lets me speak my mind and is open to those ideas.
He wants to give me everything.

I don't know if that is enough, but it might be.
I don't know where our relationship os going but for now, it is satisfying.
But I do adore him, and he... me.

He tells me this is all worth it.
I have my reservations.
And I have my reasons (Firefly knows most of them.)
For now that is all I can submit on this challenge... for the tears are coming. These are the positives and that is all this blog allows!

It's like riding a bike!

The nervousness, the trepidation, the anxiety, the stress... well it was all for nothing. Not nothing, exactly. But of course I put way too much THOUGHT into going back to work and made it more than what it was.

I was not asked questions by anyone that i couldn't handle, those that asked were friends that I had seen while off, and it was - "So taday's the big day huh? How are ya feeling? Do ya need anything?"
Yup... I must say I totally over-thought every aspect of my return.

My stomach was a mess, I felt crappy... Now I feel better.
It took about 15 minutes before I experienced TOTAL RECALL!!! I know my job. I don't need to be retrained. My access cards work - I can get in doors (Thanks to my manager.) I signed the papers to get my computer codes reactivated today... so they should be up by the weekend.

The only downdside... it was noisy. I got a headache. I am used to the quite of home. I had to take some Advil. But I guess I'll get used to that again - or I'll start wearing ear plugs to dull out the sound.

But it wasn't bad.
I am tired though.
4 hours is a long time, especially when I was shadowing (watching and helping, without touching money)... so basically staying in and out of the way at the same time!!!

Tomorrow I rest.
There is a guy coming to check the weeping tiles by the bedroom, and someone to check the plumbing over the kitchen (leaking pipes) and I am borrowing The Incredibles from Emas she got it for the boys!!! yippee!!!
BIG DAY!!!

Now I am off...
My bed calls.. the cat is already in it!

Aaaahhh... to be loved and needed...

Shadow has become my cat... the kids may not like it but we (Em and I) have decided that George needs a friend and that is why Shadow is downstairs with me. She is a huge suck, cuddles and cries when I leave the room and looks for me if I get up while she is sleeping (God forbid I have to pee!!) She has adopted the computer chair as her own so since I am sitting in it to type I am being harrassed!!!

George is enjoying all the extra attention, both from myself and the cat and now has more toys to throw around and thinks it fun to FLY across the room to get the cat running... I guess I can't keep his wings clipped anymore so she can't get him!!! He has a perch in the office so he is in here too!!

The handyman came today and cleared out the cold cellar so it smells of bleach and cinnamon (as I have aromatherapy oils going) and is slightly chilly as the windows are open to air the bleach smell out but the cinnamon is really strong anyway!!!

I decided that I want my bed and stopped at the store where I bought my bed and got a demo split boxspring so I can have my bed back... it will be delivered tomorrow... I have to decide whether to give Em my old boxspring or sell it... But as her rent went way up when I moved in, and she doesn't have a boxspring, I may "sell" her mine in exchange for rent increase... Or say Merry Christmas - Happy Birthday for the next 3 years!

I start back to work on Tuesday... I am excited about that...
I got a haircut today... It was nice to see Tan and then LEAVE!!!! I don't miss her at all. Just the little chats, but I have talked to her on the phone a few times since I moved. I really needed the haircut so I had to go see her!

OK... I think that's all...
The cat wants her chair back... and the bird is tired... trying to nap... that's hard with her running and jumping around... they ignore eachother a lot of the time though.
Plus I should go check those candles...

First night with Cat!

Not bad... she did sleep with me... for a while...
then she was up.
I got up after 5 to go to the bathroom and couldn't find her, she had used the litter box and eaten, and came out of the office when i called her and came to bed with me.

I couldn'e find her when I got up - she came out of the office again this morniing... she must have a hiding spot in here...

She sure gets attatched to me when I leave and come back though... I had a Dr's appt this AM and I have been unable to walk with out tripping since returning home. It is cute...
George is jealous... I do talk and cuddle him too..

Just waiting for the cable guy now!!!

I am a thief!

I stole a cat.
Her name is Shadow.
She is all black and very cute and highly ticked off right now and the bird REALLY wants to chase her but she wants to explore.

I stole her from Em... with permission.
I even stole cat food and litter.
It is quite funny if you think about it...

"Here take a cat and supplies... enjoy... take all three if you want."

So I took her and then I left to go get my taxes done and when I got back she started following me around and hasn't left me alone since I got home... it is kind of funny!

I just wish I could trim her toe nails they are sharp and a danger to the bird if she swipes him!!!
I got one foot done! She didn't like it...
And I really want chocolate or chips and don't feel like going out again... so I guess I am SOL...
